I have personally tried and reviewed quite a number of guides by now. As a previous sufferer myself, searching for the most effective ways to help me as well as some friends who also go through similar experiences becomes an important journey for us.

Frankly, we do not always want to rely on drugs, pills and remedies. Not that they are not good, but these are often useful only to relieve the fears and attacks. They hardly ever get rid of them. It would be better to learn of ways to cope, prevent and even treat our conditions. Among the guides we came across, the following 3 are often quoted as some of the best not just by friends and myself but other folks.

No.1 – Panic Away

Panic Away is a top panic attack treatment system that is a life saver to those who are seeking help for panic and anxiety attacks. In fact, many were able to set themselves free completely. Others were able to reduce the frequency of the attacks and are now able to lead normal lives.

No.2 – The Linden Method

The Linden Method is a highly popular anxiety, panic attack and phobia treatment method developed by Charles Linden who was once a sufferer. However, it is possible for us to learn how to deal with panic attacks and overcome them when it happens. Here are a few handy tips that I hope will be useful to you as they are to me and a lot of people who suffer from panic and anxiety attacks.

1. If you are at home and you have a TV, switch it to a children’s program or cartoon. It may sound silly but these shows are all programmed to calm the fears in kids.

2. If you cannot find any cartoon to watch, see if there is any family program as these are often something that you can associate with and are often very mild.

3. When a panic attack strikes, a common feeling is fear and the feeling of losing control. Stop what you are doing and do something else such as washing the car, mopping or sweeping the floor and so on. It should be something that requires focus and yet little or no thinking as it will take your mind off.

4. Abstain from smoking and alcohol if you know that you suffer from panic attacks. Research has shown that smokers and heavy or frequent drinkers tend to suffer more from panic and anxiety attacks. If you must, take some of melatonin or St John’s Wort to help you rest better.

5. Eat and drink foods like milk, chamomile tea, oatmeal as these foods have a soothing effect on your body. Take them slowly and not gulp down everything.

6. Go for a hot bath if you can. Let the warm water slowly drip over your head. If you can play some music in the background, do so to calm yourself down.

7. Take a soothing hot bath. Use a washcloth to drip the warm water over your head. Close our eyes and clear your mind. Burn some scented candles and play some relaxing music to add to the experience. Very often these will help to alleviate feelings of anxiety.

8. Assure yourself by reaffirming with words like “I am going to be fine”, “It’s ok”, “I am fine”, “It’s alright”. Use affirmative language and keep repeating to yourself. My mind absorbs what we say.

9. Go to a quiet place if your home is too noisy. A walk in the park can calm your nerves. Get to somewhere peaceful and not crowded and bustling with activity. Avoid places where there are too many people.

These have helped us, sufferers of panic and anxiety attacks a lot. Try them.

In our next post, we are going to discuss a few popular self-help guides that will teach you some really powerful and effective ways on how to deal with panic attacks and how to overcome them successfully.
